Thuso Mbedu Jets Off For The International Emmy Awards: Individuals have demonstrated significant help to South African on-screen character Thuso Mbedu after she streamed off to New York to go to the International Emmy Awards, occurring today.

Everyone is pulling for Thuso Mbedu, who has been assigned in the Best Performance by an Actress classification. This is her second designation in a similar classification. In an interview on Afternoon Express a few months ago, she said: “For me, personally, just from my experience, I think our industry doesn’t want, doesn’t allow for people to grow. It’s like, uhm… after the [first] nomination, I remember I had a sit-down meeting with one of the, a couple of producers and they were like ‘ah, we should have tried to get you before the nomination because now you’re too expensive’. That time we hadn’t even discussed contracts,” she said.

Thuso added: “But then also it’s like, ‘we wanna show you that you’re not better than us’. That’s been my experience…”
