Barba took part in the 6th season of American Idol in 2007, but was eliminated right before the top 12 were chosen. She was at the center of a mild scandal while on the show when a photo of her wearing a wet t-shirt while dipped in the fountain of Washington D.C.’s National World War II Memorial began circulating. Barba was arrested for shoplifting in New York in 2011, but still appeared on Fear Factor the following year. She remained as an obscure talent for years, and was last seen on Jimmy Kimmel Live! alongside a cast of other American Idol contenders for a segment called “Where Are They Now?”
