Taking to social media, Nomcebo announced that the song has reached gold status.

She emphasized writing and performing the song; the star also spoke about how some people wanted to dim her light and shine.

“I wrote and performed “JERUSALEMA” in my language isiZulu. The success it has had has been recognized around the world and today it is the highest-earning song in South Africa earning Gold Status @riaa_awards,” she wrote.
